President Barack Obama will become the only person to be offered a advanced copies of the new episodes of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” after requesting to see the show’s return a little ahead of everyone else, Time reports. “When the commander-in-chief says, ‘I want to see advanced episodes,’ what are you gonna do?” said the show’s David Benioff. HBO refused to provide previews to journalists or others inside the industry in order to keep the series on ultimate lock down.
Although he’s now an Academy Award-nominated director, local Richard Linklater didn’t see much of a career in filmmaking during a 1991 interview. As part of public access documentary “Film Pulse” the Linklater of 25 years ago answered a few questions about his creative process. Linklator is adamant in asserting that, for him, filmmaking is more about the stories than it is about work, and, he adds with a shrug, “For the first time it looks like I should be making money out of it, but, you know, we’ll see.” 1991 was around the same time Linklater’s delightfully plotless cult film “Slacker” came out.
