Remember eight years ago when J.J. Abrams released his found-footage, monster movie “Cloverfield?” Well in two months (March 11) you can watch the long-rumored sequel “10 Cloverfield Lane” starring John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. “The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible,” said Abrams about the development and sudden release of the movie. You can watch the trailer, which features a lot of the original’s creepy camera angles and unexplained suspense, here.

Drinks and zerts have always been meant for each other. Nightcap, a dessert bar, opened earlier this week on West Sixth Street, and offers, as you might have guessed, desserts and drinks. The spot will have cheesecake made with bourbon cherries, feuilletine and thyme, and an array of classic cocktails. Some menu items even mix booze and sweets. If you’re still stuck on the salt, the menu will feature some small bite, savory options, like roasted beets.
Yasiin Bey, commonly known as rapper Mos Def, was arrested at a South African airport when he tried to use what he claimed was a “world passport.” Bey, who has lived in Cape Town since 2013 was arrested for violating local immigration laws. He entered the country on an American passport that had since expired.
Best known for his role as mountain man Grizzly Adams, the 1970s television star Dan Haggerty has died at age 74. Several reports have said that his death was the result of cancer.
