1. Sunday marks 20 years since the premiere of Toy Story.

It was the first Disney Pixar movie and when it came out 20 years ago, Nov. 22, 1995 to be exact, no movie like “Toy Story” had been made before. Pixar has since gone on to create two sequels to the film and is planning for another, “Toy Story 4,” to be released in 2018. The film set the moving and humane tone of the 15 Pixar films that would follow, including beloved “Finding Nemo” and “Up.”

2. Jackson Pollock’s lesser known “black series” opens at Dallas museum.

A new Jackson Pollock exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art, “Jackson Pollock: Blind Spots,” is less colorful than you might expect but just as drippy. The largest exhibit of the artist’s “black paintings” ever will open today and includes 31 black paintings by the abstract painter. The works date from 1951 to 1953 and will be on display until March 20.

In wake of her highly-anticipated new album “25,” some Austinites might be asking “When is Adele going to play our city?” Many people would mistakenly believe Adele has only played one sold out Austin show in 2009. But the British songstress did in fact perform during 2007’s SXSW festival, a show that she says about three or four drunk people saw.

5. Untapped canned beer festival moved to next year.

What was set to be Austin’s first canned beer festival, Untapped’s “Canned,” has been postponed until an undecided date next year. The festival was planned for Dec. 5 and was to feature performances by bands Built to Spill and Diarrhea Planet. An announcement on the company’s website cited unspecified “circumstances beyond our control.” Ticket holders will receive full refunds.
