Houston rapper Bun B wants to be Taylor Swift’s guest performer

The current princess of pop Taylor Swift is making her first stop in Texas on her 1989 World Tour Wednesday and the big question remains of who will grace the stage as her guest performer. With Houston’s bustling hip hop scene, one rapper is offering his service and fans seem to be loving the idea.

Houston rapper Bun B took to Twitter to suggest himself as the next celebrity to join the long list of musicians, celebrities and famous BFFs on the 1989 stage. Fans also got involved by tweeting their support and asking Taylor to bring Bun B on stage.

Earlier this summer, the Houston Astros regular season success required the Houston date of the tour to get pushed back a day.

The self-proclaimed “King of the Underground” gained popularity as one half of the rap group UGK, and has gone on to become the face of Houston’s rap scene, all while amassing a million followers on Twitter and appearing on tracks with Jay-Z, Outkast, Beyonce and in classrooms as a guest professor at Rice University.

In 2011, Houston Mayor Annise Parker honored the rapper with an official proclamation of “Bun B Day.” So when the 1989 tour rolls into Minute Maid Park, it might not be a bad idea for Bun B to be the next member inducted into Taylor’s squad.
